This amazing trap is not the remote controlled model. This new design has a handpiece that is also the bait swirl pump.
To trap the fish you simply set up your trap where the target fish hangs out. Burp the Bubble trap if air bubbles are in the trap. Place your fish's favorite food into the bubble trap and squeeze the bulb to create a bait chum swirl.
When the target fish is in the trap pull the hand piece away from the tank glass to release the Bubble trap. Sometimes you will need to remove the more aggressive fish to get the target fish. You can attach a string to the hand piece to pull the hand piece if you have very shy or cautious fish.
Tankmatez Bubble Traps make trapping and inspecting fish easy and is virtually harmless.Until Our Traps Get Mass Produced The Price Will Be $49.99 To $109.99 Depending On Tank Glass Thickness. Each Trap Is Hand Made To Match Tank Glass Thickness. Please Add $44.99 International Shipping.
This is amazing! I’ve been trying to take out 4 damselfish out of my 180 gallon saltwater reef tank. It was impossible with all the rocks. With this I took 20 minutes to get them all out of there!!!
Wow! So amazing to hear about this. 20 minutes? Amazing! Thank you so much for the positive review, my friend. :)
I’ve used the ol’ two liter traps before, but had a pesky wrasse who was too wise. Finally ordered a Tankmatez trap and, boy, am I happy I did. The bait syringe option and mirror really attract the fish. I had all the fish eating from the trap within a day, and caught the perpetrator on the second day. Great value, great functionality, and a great product. I’ve been so impressed that I wanted to write a review and help spread the good word!
That is such great news, Judson. :) It feels so good to see such a happy customer. Very cool to hear about the party you had in the trap. Fish penthouses coming soon. ;)
This is amazing! I was able to catch the fish I was after in under five minutes.
Yayyy! So glad to hear that, my friend. :) Thank you so much for the positive review.
I caught my skiddish blue hippo tang. BOn the third day of trap in water he finally would swim around it and finally noticed the food sprialing around. My melanarus wrasse went in first then he followed. Boom both out at one time lol. He about filled the trap but he got in! Super easy once he got used to the trap in the water. Even my blue damsel was getting curious which I now know I can even him out if i wanted The one that gave 1 star dont even pay attention. ANY foriegn objects needs a few days in tank for fish to acclimate to it being there. 100% expected. This trap is differenr bc most any fish that actually swims about for food would prob go in at least some way into any trap. They dont stay in long enough for the trap door to close or something else gets in way. Once the fish are mostly in with this one yiur get em. If i did it over again i woukd just leave the ball in tank no foos juat let fish adjust. Then on day three asdd foos and theb do the caoture. For the magnet. My tank is 1/2” acrylic. Mag holds. If you read instructions you know to move the trap very slowly or else it will release. No big deal whatsoever. The trap size is based on diameter of the ball NOT the hole size! I was lucky my fish fit :). I bought based on hole size lol. Keep that in mind. If mirror falls off do not even worry about it. Ignore the 1* revirew for eeal! My review refutes everything that person says.
My melanarus wrasse went in first then he followed. Boom both out at one time lol. Haha! That is so incredible. So happy to hear you figured out how to work with the trap. Kuddos to you, my friend! :) Thank you so much for the positive review.
Hi, haven’t caught the coral eating culprit yet but once they get used to the trap being in there I think it’ll work After seeing the 6” model I think for future use I should have purchased the 8” model I did manage to catch my Copperband in the trap and had a heck of a time getting him out. Wrong fish though When money isn’t so tight I may just order the 8” model too. Looking at the quality of the product it’s top notch. Magnet could be a little stronger I can’t move mine the way the video shows I have to move very slow or it trips the trap. So far I’m impressed I like it Thanks Tom
Hi Thomas, Thanks for your honest review. Tank glass and acrylic have different densities. This makes it a challenge to use the perfect amount of magnetism to hold the bubble trap and not too much that it slows the release. Our new adjustable magnetism hand pieces alleviate this problem. Now customers can fine tune it to their tank glass. I always recommend to get the largest trap that you can fit. The larger the trap the less threatening to the fish. Thanks again for your order and your support.
