I'm getting my fish used to it but I've already had my white cheek tang hang out in there with just a tiny piece of nori in my copper band seems to enjoy it in there he does turns and twists and upside downs he'll sit in there I actually had to chase him away just so he would feel like it was a naughty zone lol thanks guys I've tried the trap door one from seaside and the ball just seems to work better sometimes the fish don't figure out if they can't go through the glass to eat the little food inside of there take some a whole 10 minutes to figure out the front is the best entrance with a little coaxing but the quality of the product is really nice I dropped it didn't crack or anything keep the foam on that's important because if you don't it won't float or flip up I don't know why there must be a reason that it's not glued or velcro down there so I just left it the way it was
Hi Renee, Thank you for your uplifting feedback. We designed the float ring without glue to allow our customers the flexibility to clean around the bubble. Your suggestion regarding velcro is intriguing, and we'll certainly explore its feasibility. Thanks for the insight! Cheers! :D
I actually managed to catch my troublesome fish after 6 weeks of trying. I can happily say that this product works.
Hi James, congratulations on catching your troublesome fish. Thanks for the review, my friend. Cheers! :)
Can use some improvements but works out of the box! Caught the fish quickly and promptly.
Hi Anonymous, thank you so much for your review. Glad our trap did the job for you. Congratulations, my friend. Cheers! :D
The trap is a prototype so I expected not the best looking craftsmanship. However, its not that bad. It can use quite a few improvements like making it easier to release the trap bulb when pressing the squeeze. I found that I had to push harder than I should. The squeeze is used for ******* mucus from babies and should be an accordion style button or something friendlier. I found the squeeze to roll when resting it on a flat surface. It takes some squeezing action to purge the air. The foam ring seems fragile so careful when cleaning. Besides all of this, it works. Be patient though as fish will be somewhat afraid. I found that the bulbous design scares them less than a square trap. Very efficient and brilliant idea.
Hi Rick, thank you so much for your review and for your compliments. The bulb does not need to be squeezed all the way in order to suction the bubble to your tank glass. This way, it'll be much simple to release the trap, once your target fish is inside. If we decided to use an accordion style button or something similar, we'd have to increase the price of the trap. We want to make our traps as affordable as possible. The float ring is heat fused (should not snap very easily) and is designed to go on and off the bubble for easy cleaning. Once again, thank you so much for your positive feedback. We greatly appreciate it, buddy. Cheers! :D
Caught both fish in an hour!
Awesome trap. Worked really well and didn’t take long for my Hawkfish and my small Convict Tang to head in and start munching on spirulina brine floating inside. The only issue I had was my Ruby Head Fairy Wrasse wouldn’t leave the darn thing to make room for other fish to eat…. Haha. Would definitely recommend to anyone trying to catch a quick and elusive fish.
This is so awesome to read. Lol at your only issue. Sorry about that. ;) Glad the trap worked out for you, my friend. :)
